Batman University was established on May 17, 2007. With the motto "Transforming Knowledge into Energy," Batman University has aligned its mission with its regional context and, under the Council of Higher Education's "Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program," became one of the pilot universities in the field of "Energy" in 2021. Rapidly growing and expanding, Batman University currently includes 1 Institute, 11 Faculties, 1 School, 7 Vocational Schools, and 18 Research and Application Centers. The university hosts 44 student clubs, with a total of 15,551 students and 563 academic staff. Since its establishment, Batman University has graduated 34,377 students. Engaged in various national and international collaborations, the university actively participates in Erasmus+ programs, enabling mobility opportunities for students, staff, and academics.

Additionally, it served as the coordinator for a KA154 project during the 2022–2023 academic years.
